I just wanted to take time out to say  Thank you to an incredible woman who had the biggest heart of 

Gold that I know, and I'm very grateful & thankful for the time I got to spend with her 

and the good memories that we shared! 

Thank you for opening your heart, soul, and home up to me because she always made me feel welcome, 

loved and encouraged because of you, I always felt like I could achieve anything in the world and learned 

so many valuable lessons as well. 

The main thing I learned and saw was a true example of what it means to be the heart & soul of your family 

and the importance of that role. 

As I reflect on the good times we spent together, I think those were some of the best times during my college days! You could make me laugh like nobody's business, and when I would see your smile, it gave me comfort on my worse days.  

Thank you for everything you did for me, from your jokes, wisdom, and pushing me out of my comfort zone but teaching me the importance of becoming a better person. Also, thank you for 

Not judging me during my time when I was lost and stuck in my self-sabotaging ways and for encouraging me to be a better person altogether. 

I love you and sincerely going to miss you bunches! You're forever in my heart, and I will not forget all the time we shared.

The Top five things I learned in my three weeks at Lane.

1. Double check your schedule to make sure your attending classes on the right days and times. My first two weeks I struggled with that because I did not understand my schedule. 2. Make it to dining hours on time or you're going to be screwed. 3. Stay Organized!!! I found out being organized is important because if you're not you can easily loose focus on the important things you need to get done. 4. Positive Vibes only!!! It is good to have positives vibes and a good spirit because it will make your college journey a little bit easier. 5. Study, Study, Study!!! make sure you make time to do it because it is crucial. It is important to study so you can be prepared for pop up quizzes or test that the professors love to give.

My Favorite Class This Semester

My favorite class this semester is African Diaspora and the reason why it is African Diaspora because of my professor Dr. Carleen Jackson, she  is a real example of a true educator because she pushes her students to strive for the best and encourages them to pursue their dreams and to work hard every day to make your dreams your reality and not settle for being complacent in life. Not only does she teach about African history she also teaches life lessons in class. Dr. Jackson has inspired and encouraged me after I get my business degree to go for a 2nd degree which will be in African American Studies because I want to be able to teach young queens and kings the importance of our roots and how important our black history is.  I can honestly say I’m glad to be taken African Diaspora because it has open my eyes to so much information that I did not know that I should have known.

My Journey to help stop fat shaming & College Bullying

I’m going, to be honest readers this is not an easy topic for me to talk about but I only felt like it was right for me to talk about since I had personally been dealing with it since my first semester in college and on top of it I’m still dealing with it. I’m making it my mission by telling my story that it will help others find the courage to stand up for themselves and to take action to help others. The incident that was the final straw for me and motivated me to get an overdrive for my cause. On March 7 th , 2018 a nasty note was slipped under my door saying “Perri is a fat ass Pig!!!” on a pink index card. When I came across the note all of my emotions hit me like a ton of bricks went from being angry to disgust with the childish behavior of the note from wanting to open up a big can of whoop-ass on whoever did it.
